Sagebrush Sicily (aka Sissy) was our first donkey. We got her in April, 1997, to guard our sheep from stray dogs. Sissy is a BLM jennet that was born summer of 1994. She is 11 hands high.

We bought Sissy from some people that had adopted her from the BLM. I don't think the people had handled Sissy much before we bought her. They just kept her out in a big field with a bunch or horses, cows and other donkeys. When we got Sissy she was wild.

Since we were totally new to equines, Sissy was a big learning experience for us! We gained Sissy's confidence, and trained her to let us catch and lead her, and trim her hooves. I have also trained Sissy for riding, and she was ridden by a 12 year old until she was outgrown.

Sissy now lives with Rudy and Cara Faulds in Colorado. She is taking nicely to driving. Congratulation Rudy and Cara on the purchase of this excellent jennet!
